Stephaine A. Young
Stephanie A. Young is a native of Miami Florida, though her poetry roots were planted and cultivated in rural Georgia. The three hundred and thirty three acre farm, where Stephanie was raised, left her with pleasant memories. Cooking, sewing, as well as growing fruit and vegetables are all fond reminiscent skills that were taught by her six great aunts.
A love for God was introduced to Stephanie at a very young age. Also instilled, was a strong love for family, and good values. Stephanie is a loving wife to Yancey of twenty-five years and mother of two sons, Johnathan (24), and Jordan (12).
Writing became a way of expressing her inner thoughts and feelings. Ultimately, the joy of words manifested into short stories and poetry. “When My Soul Started To Fly” is the first of many works coming forth from the journeys of Stephanie Young.
When My Soul Started to Fly, is an adventure of life, love, and the joy of God in daily living. This book is filled with words that will inspire you and speak to your spirit. Young shares poetically with transparency. Times you will find her words heart tendered and other times your mind will be intrigued; wondering, “What was really going on when she wrote those words.”
When My Soul Started to Fly” takes you through several different emotions. Stephanie make you laugh when she shares about her child hood experiences. Her love poetry has mysterious under tones of a good girl gone inconspicuously wild at time. She also shares the beauty of black love. Her poetry takes you to the country the most of us have only read about. She shares with words so vividly that you feel as though you are there. Her book is a must read.
